About Us
It is important that we first explain the nature of Religious Spiritualism and what it is hoped to accomplish. First of all, we should note that anything we write here is an opaque shadow masking the tenacity and truth of our beliefs. Words cannot express what we have come to understand; you must see it for yourself. We offer ourselves to the will of the Divine by the 10 traditions of Religious Spiritualism (described in the pages above: Religious Spiritualism, Tao, Gnothi Sauton, Compassion and Humility, Sapientia, Sattvic Action, Logos, Zakat, Living in the Present, Meditational Prayer). Our ultimate goal is the same as many: to give a Path or Way to Nous and the Divine for all those who seek it.
Before we continue, we wish to let the reader know that Religious Spiritualism is not a religion, nor is it spiritualism. We do not wish to replace any existing religious faiths; we merely offer a different way to look at them, the world, and especially ourselves. Religious Spiritualism is a lens through which we can view and thus participate in existing world religions. Because of this, we do not believe in evangelistic or recruitment techniques. Hopefully, the example set by Astrivians will be enough to encourage active participation.
Some have asked if we have a prophet (as in Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, or even Alchemy) the answer is both no and yes. We do not have a prophet, we have many. We listen to the words and, most importantly, the actions of all those who seek the Divine. Therefore, Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Hermes, St. Francis, Gibran, Dr. Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Osiris, and many others would rank equally in a list of prophets of Religious Spiritualism. We do not try to follow in their footsteps; we are not who they were. The world we live in now is much different than most prophets we could think of, and therefore the path they took will not be the path we take. Instead, we seek what they sought.
We also have many founders. While one person may have compiled the list of the 10 Traditions, the traditions themselves have been around for thousands of years, possibly preached by thousands or millions of people. Religious Spiritualism is not new, it has existed since the beginning of time. How do we know this is true? We look inside ourselves and see. We do not discourage people of any age, gender, faith, culture, nationality, sexual orientation, or creed from Religious Spiritualism: our practices are always open and honest. It cannot be slandered or libeled because there is nothing to slander or libel; nor can it be affirmed in argument, because there is no argument capable of affirming it. Nor can it be adulterated: Religious Spiritualism should be rapped, spray painted on buses, parodied, mocked, ridiculed, established in politics, in poetics, in speech, but most importantly, in action.
